Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end administration of federal pension plans, ensuring accurate calculations and disbursements.
- Ensure strict compliance with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regulations and agency-specific policies.
- Conduct thorough audits of pension data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees regarding retirement eligibility, survivor benefits, and pension projections.
- Collaborate with the payroll and finance departments to integrate pension data seamlessly.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management regarding pension fund status and compliance metrics.
- Stay updated on changes in federal legislation affecting retirement benefits and adjust processes accordingly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in federal human resources, specifically focusing on benefits administration and pension management.
- Deep knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to real-world scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively train and advise staff.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite.
