Responsibilities
- Implement and manage federal information security frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-171, FISMA) to ensure compliance with strict government regulations.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Monitor security systems and respond immediately to security incidents, breaches, and anomalies to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Prepare and present detailed security briefings and reports to federal stakeholders and compliance auditors.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and support staff within the Kansas City office.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance or higher is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field (or equivalent years of experience).
- Valid CISSP, CISM, Security+, or CEH certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal IT security or a related government contracting role.
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols, encryption standards, and identity and access management (IAM).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to executive leadership and government officials.
