Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex geospatial databases and interactive web mapping applications using ArcGIS and QGIS.
- Conduct advanced spatial analysis to support urban planning, public health, and emergency response initiatives across Washington DC.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data with other enterprise systems and data portals.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of all geospatial data assets.
- Provide technical expertise and training to internal stakeholders and government partners.
- Stay current with emerging GIS technologies and best practices to recommend system improvements.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree with significant experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, cartography, and software development.
- Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and SQL databases.
- Experience with Python (ArcPy) for scripting, automation, and custom tool development.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for diverse audiences.
