Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex GIS applications, web mapping services, and databases using Esri ArcGIS and QGIS.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret complex spatial data to support county planning, zoning, and infrastructure projects.
- System Integration: Collaborate with IT staff to integrate GIS solutions with existing county enterprise systems and third-party software.
- Training & Support: Provide advanced technical training and support to county staff and external stakeholders regarding GIS tools and data interpretation.
- Project Management: Manage multiple concurrent GIS projects from inception to deployment, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of all spatial data and mapping products.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in GIS analysis, software development, or database management.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in ArcGIS Desktop/Server, Python, SQL, and web mapping technologies (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Licensure: Professional GIS Professional (GISP) certification is a plus.
