Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the city's core IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security for all municipal systems.
- Cybersecurity Leadership: Develop and execute security strategies to protect sensitive government data, conduct risk assessments, and respond to security incidents in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of major IT projects, including software upgrades, cloud migration initiatives, and system integrations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for department heads and city officials, translating complex technical requirements into actionable business solutions.
- System Optimization: Analyze system performance data to identify bottlenecks and implement optimizations to improve operational efficiency.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure all technology practices adhere to local, state, and federal compliance standards, including open records laws and data privacy regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT management, systems architecture, or cybersecurity within a large-scale organization.
- Certifications: Active certification such as CISSP, CISM, or PMP is highly desirable.
- Tech Stack: Proficiency in network security protocols, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), virtualization, and enterprise resource planning systems.
- Background Check: Must successfully complete a thorough background investigation and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
