Responsibilities
- Manage and Maintain IT Infrastructure: Oversee the daily operations of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and server hardware to ensure maximum uptime and security.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide advanced level technical support to city staff, diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Project Management: Lead or assist in the planning, implementation, and deployment of new IT projects, ensuring adherence to strict government compliance standards.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Monitor system performance, conduct security audits, and implement necessary protocols to protect sensitive municipal data.
- User Training: Conduct training sessions and create documentation to empower staff with the knowledge to utilize technology effectively.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure the timely delivery of IT services and hardware maintenance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent military/technical experience.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering within a government or corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, VMWare, and modern cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex technical challenges under pressure.
