Responsibilities
- System Administration: Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of local server hardware and operating systems to ensure 99.9% uptime for critical government services.
- Network Management: Monitor network traffic and performance, troubleshoot complex connectivity issues, and implement security protocols to safeguard sensitive citizen data.
- Software Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications and database solutions using modern programming languages.
- Project Leadership: Lead small-scale IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet scope, time, and budget requirements.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced technical guidance and support to internal staff and external stakeholders, acting as a subject matter expert for complex technical inquiries.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure all IT operations comply with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and cybersecurity standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in information technology, systems administration, or software development within a government or enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, Python, or C#; strong knowledge of SQL databases; experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or higher certifications are highly desirable.
