Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local and wide-area network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues for state employees.
- Manage and monitor network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to prevent downtime and security breaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute IT projects and system upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal data privacy and information security regulations.
- Conduct regular system audits and preventative maintenance to extend the lifecycle of IT assets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in network administration or IT support.
- Valid certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, Active Directory, and Windows Server environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced government environment.
