Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and network infrastructure to support County operations.
- Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues for remote staff.
- Develop and enforce information security protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify technology needs and recommend innovative solutions for efficiency.
- Manage software licensing, updates, and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Document technical processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Experience working in a government or large-scale enterprise environment is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid California Driver’s License (required for occasional in-office or field visits).
