Responsibilities
- System Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and network infrastructure to ensure 99.9% uptime for critical government services.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams in the deployment of new software solutions and digital transformation initiatives.
- Cybersecurity Oversight: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive state data against evolving cyber threats.
- Technical Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior IT staff, conducting code reviews and technical training sessions.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external technology vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality delivery.
- Compliance: Ensure all IT operations adhere to state and federal regulations and best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or software development.
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or PMP certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, SQL, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and virtualization technologies.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of resolving complex technical issues under pressure.
