Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex software applications and infrastructure to support city agency operations.
- Implement and monitor robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive government data and systems from cyber threats.
- Analyze system performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities and improve overall IT efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and streamline government processes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior IT staff and government contractors.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government regulations, including FISMA and NIST standards.
- Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to guarantee the reliability of deployed software solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems analysis, software development, or infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C# and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, network protocols, and database management systems (SQL).
- Experience working within a government or public sector environment is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to work in a hybrid on-site/remote capacity as required.
