Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale server infrastructure and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Oversee the security architecture, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., NIST, HIPAA).
- Direct the troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues affecting state agency operations.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of junior system administrators and developers.
- Develop and document technical standards, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize resource utilization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT project management.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Expert, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
- Proven experience managing hybrid cloud environments and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
