Responsibilities
- System Administration: Manage and optimize local and wide-area networks, ensuring 99.9% uptime for state services.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data and infrastructure from cyber threats.
- Project Management: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of IT infrastructure projects, from planning and procurement to deployment and maintenance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues for internal staff and external constituents.
- Compliance: Ensure all IT operations adhere to state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and FISMA standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, runbooks, and system configurations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT system administration, network engineering, or a related technical role within the public sector or a large enterprise.
- Certifications: Active certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Availability: Must be willing to work on-call rotation and during emergency response scenarios as needed.
