Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of the District's central server infrastructure during weekend hours to ensure business continuity.
- Monitor system performance and security alerts, responding immediately to critical incidents or outages to minimize downtime.
- Execute and verify scheduled system backups, patch management, and disaster recovery procedures to protect sensitive government data.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and guidance to internal staff and other IT teams during the weekend shift.
- Collaborate with the weekday leadership team to plan infrastructure upgrades and address recurring technical issues identified during off-hours.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal and local cybersecurity policies, including NIST and FedRAMP standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT system administration, infrastructure management, or network engineering.
- Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and Cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
- Experience with ITIL framework and change management processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision during weekends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting technical status to stakeholders.
