Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project lifecycle management for state IT initiatives including Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across multiple state agencies to ensure timely delivery
- Manage project budgets exceeding $1M with rigorous financial oversight and reporting
- Develop comprehensive risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Ensure compliance with California IT policies, security protocols, and accessibility standards
- Facilitate stakeholder communications from executive to technical levels
- Implement continuous improvement processes for project delivery efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years progressive IT project management experience in government/public sector
- Active PMP or CSM certification required
- Proven expertise managing complex technology implementations with budgets >$500K
- Deep knowledge of California state procurement processes and IT governance frameworks
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to translate technical requirements to business outcomes
- Strong experience with Jira, Confluence, and project management tools
