Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Management: Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for government officials, department heads, and vendors, providing regular status updates and managing expectations.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all projects adhere to federal, state, and local government procurement regulations and data privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA, FISMA).
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and data security.
- Budget Oversight: Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and prepare financial reports for senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related field is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT project management within the public sector or a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM certification is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira) and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
