Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Management: Lead end-to-end project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for large-scale IT initiatives, ensuring alignment with state strategic goals.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for executive leadership, department heads, and external vendors, providing clear, timely updates on project status and risks.
- Agile & Methodology: Drive the adoption of Agile and Scrum methodologies, facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all projects adhere to state procurement laws, IT security standards, and budgetary constraints.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and contractors, overseeing contracts and deliverables to guarantee value for money.
- Resource Allocation: Effectively manage project teams and resources, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in IT project management, with a strong focus on government or public sector projects.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM certification is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet) and modern development methodologies (Agile/Scrum/Kanban).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and make data-driven decisions under pressure.
