Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments and risk analyses for state systems and networks.
- Develop, implement, and monitor security policies and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA, HIPAA).
- Lead incident response efforts to identify, analyze, and contain cybersecurity breaches and threats.
- Manage vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and remediation processes.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and IT staff.
- Prepare and present security briefings to senior leadership and government stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Information Security or Cybersecurity.
- Certification such as CISSP, CISM, or Security+ is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state government security regulations and compliance standards.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and threat intelligence platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes government environment.
