Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) and local area networks with a focus on information security.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits to ensure compliance with NIST and DOD directives.
- Monitor network traffic for potential security breaches and respond to incidents in accordance with incident response plans.
- Configure, implement, and troubleshoot firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and federal personnel on security best practices and protocols.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on security posture, incidents, and system performance to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
- Experience: At least 3 years of specialized experience in information technology, with a focus on network security or information assurance.
- Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance required. Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance is highly preferred.
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, or GSEC certification is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and enterprise security tools.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
