Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain the county's server infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Network Security: Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and enforce security protocols to protect sensitive government data.
- System Administration: Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patch management to ensure system availability and reliability.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and execute disaster recovery plans and backup strategies to minimize downtime in the event of a system failure.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and configuration guides.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; Associate’s degree with significant relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in IT systems administration within a complex environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, PowerShell scripting, and TCP/IP networking.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are a strong plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
