Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of server infrastructure, including virtualization environments and cloud solutions.
- Network Security: Monitor network traffic, identify vulnerabilities, and implement robust security protocols to protect sensitive government data from cyber threats.
- System Administration: Manage Active Directory, manage user accounts, and troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues for internal staff.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of system outages or natural disasters.
- Vendor Relations: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure optimal performance of third-party software and hardware solutions.
- Compliance: Ensure all IT operations adhere to local, state, and federal government regulations and security standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration, preferably within a government or enterprise environment.
- Certifications: Active certification in Microsoft (MCSE) or Cisco (CCNA/CCNP) is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, PowerShell, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical staff.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of resolving critical system issues efficiently.
