Role Overview
As a Senior IT Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust IT systems that support state operations. You will lead technical initiatives, ensure data integrity, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions for the Commonwealth.
Responsibilities
- Lead System Implementation: Oversee the planning and execution of large-scale IT system upgrades and migrations to ensure minimal disruption to government services.
- Security Compliance: Enforce strict data security protocols and government regulations to protect sensitive citizen information.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with department heads and public sector teams to identify technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze system performance metrics and troubleshoot complex technical issues to maintain 99.9% uptime for critical services.
- Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external technology vendors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems analysis, IT project management, or software development within the public sector or a large enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) is highly preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of federal and state government IT compliance standards (e.g., FISMA, HIPAA) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
