The City of Irvine is seeking a highly skilled Senior Parks & Recreation Maintenance Specialist to lead our groundskeeping efforts. We are looking for a dedicated professional who takes pride in maintaining the city's award-winning landscape and ensuring safe recreational spaces for thousands of residents.

Responsibilities
- Grounds Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of athletic fields, parks, trails, and landscaped areas, including mowing, edging, and fertilization.
- Irrigation Management: Inspect, repair, and program advanced irrigation systems to ensure water conservation and optimal plant health.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and perform routine maintenance on heavy machinery, including tractors, mowers, and zero-turns.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce all OSHA safety regulations and city protocols to maintain a hazard-free environment for the public and staff.
- Facility Upkeep: Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on park facilities, including restroom fixtures and playground equipment.
- Project Leadership: Assist in supervising seasonal staff and volunteers during peak seasons.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associateās degree in Horticulture or Public Administration is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in parks maintenance or landscaping.
- License: Valid California Class C Driverās License and a clean DMV record.
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions; lift and carry 50+ lbs frequently.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of integrated pest management and irrigation controllers.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on community service.
