Responsibilities
- Calculate and process pension benefits for eligible retirees and active members according to state statutes.
- Conduct thorough audits of pension data to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and employees regarding pension inquiries and plan changes.
- Collaborate with the Finance and Legal departments to interpret complex government regulations.
- Prepare monthly reports on pension liabilities and fund status for executive leadership.
- Maintain and update the pension database systems to reflect current member information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field required.
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration, public sector finance, or actuarial analysis preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and ERPs (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Deep understanding of Ohio Revised Code and state retirement regulations is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
