Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct the calculation and processing of pension benefits for active and retired members.
- Ensure all pension calculations adhere to state statutes, ERISA regulations, and internal policies.
- Analyze actuarial reports and financial statements to assess the health of pension funds.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal staff, retirees, and the public regarding pension inquiries.
- Participate in the preparation of actuarial valuations and required state reporting.
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency in pension administration workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional designation (ASA, FSA, CERA, or EA) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension administration, actuarial analysis, or benefits management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and actuarial software (e.g., AXIS, MoSes).
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
