Responsibilities
- Perform complex calculations for pension benefits, survivor annuities, and disability payments using state actuarial tables.
- Review and reconcile monthly pension payments to ensure accuracy and compliance with New York State Labor Law.
- Respond to inquiries from retirees and employers regarding eligibility, benefits, and night shift accruals.
- Assist in the migration and maintenance of pension data for the Charlotte, NC regional operations.
- Collaborate with the Payroll and Benefits departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Document all procedures and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive personal financial data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or government accounting.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Must be available to work the night shift (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to pass a background check and security clearance.
