As a key member of our Policy Division, you'll collaborate with state agencies, legislative bodies, and industry partners to develop forward-thinking policies that balance innovation, security, and accessibility. This role offers hybrid work arrangements with 3 days remote/2 days in our modern Austin headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and draft comprehensive technology policies for state agencies
- Research emerging trends in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and AI governance
- Coordinate with legislative committees during policy implementation phases
- Develop compliance frameworks for state IT security standards
- Present policy recommendations to executive leadership and stakeholders
- Manage cross-functional projects with 15+ state agencies
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed technology regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government policy or IT governance
- Advanced knowledge of Texas state procurement processes
- Certification in cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., CISSP, CISM)
- Expertise in data privacy regulations (HIPAA, FERPA)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with policy analysis software and data visualization tools
