Responsibilities
- Analyze complex socioeconomic data and legislative trends to inform evidence-based policy recommendations
- Lead cross-functional task forces addressing affordable housing, climate resilience, and public health initiatives
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and implementation roadmaps for the Mayor's Office
- Conduct stakeholder engagement sessions with community leaders, nonprofits, and federal partners
- Monitor federal legislative changes and assess potential impacts on DC governance
- Manage policy pilot programs with $500K+ budgets and evaluate outcomes
- Present findings to City Council committees and executive leadership
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sectors
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical analysis
- Demonstrated success in developing equity-focused policy frameworks
- Deep knowledge of DC's administrative codes and federal-local governance structures
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with executive presence
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
