Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and develop evidence-based policy recommendations for state agencies
- Conduct stakeholder engagement with local governments, nonprofits, and private sector partners
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative testimony for executive leadership
- Manage cross-departmental implementation of new regulatory frameworks
- Oversee budget allocation analysis for public programs
- Monitor federal policy changes and assess Kansas-specific implications
- Mentor junior policy analysts and interns
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in quantitative data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or Python)
- Proven success in developing and implementing policy frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Kansas government regulatory knowledge preferred
- Project management certification or equivalent experience
