Responsibilities
- Analyze legislative frameworks and regulatory impacts for municipal policy development
- Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives with community organizations and industry partners
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using GIS mapping and demographic analysis tools
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and implementation roadmaps for city council review
- Manage interdepartmental projects aligning with Kansas City's 2030 Strategic Plan
- Monitor federal/state compliance requirements for grant-funded initiatives
- Present findings to elected officials and public forums using data visualization platforms
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of government policy analysis experience at municipal level
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R) and GIS platforms (ArcGIS)
- Proven track record in developing evidence-based policy recommendations
- Strong familiarity with Missouri Sunshine Law and FOIA protocols
- Experience managing multi-year capital improvement projects
- Excellent written communication with sample policy portfolio required
- Professional certification (e.g., AICP, PP) preferred
