Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and develop data-driven recommendations for District agencies
- Lead interdepartmental task forces on housing, transportation, and economic development initiatives
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research using advanced statistical methods
- Draft legislative proposals, budget justifications, and executive memoranda
- Present findings to senior leadership and elected officials
- Oversee implementation of policy pilots and evaluate outcomes
- Mentor junior analysts and manage stakeholder engagement processes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, Stata) and data visualization tools
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing policy solutions
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Deep knowledge of DC's governmental structure and policy landscape
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to community meetings citywide
