Responsibilities
- Analyze complex socioeconomic data to identify policy gaps and recommend evidence-based solutions
- Lead cross-functional task forces to draft legislative proposals and regulatory frameworks
- Conduct stakeholder engagement with community leaders, industry partners, and federal agencies
- Develop quantitative models to forecast policy impacts and resource allocation needs
- Present findings to the Mayor's Office, Councilmembers, and public oversight bodies
- Mentor junior analysts and build departmental policy research capabilities
- Monitor federal policy trends to ensure local alignment and strategic positioning
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in municipal or federal government
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, SPSS) and GIS mapping tools
- Proven track record of successful policy implementation with measurable outcomes
- Deep knowledge of DC's unique governance structure and regulatory environment
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with policy brief publication record
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain within 90 days
