Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data-driven policy recommendations for state technology initiatives
- Analyze legislative impacts and regulatory changes affecting public services
- Lead cross-functional projects with 10+ stakeholders across government agencies
- Prepare executive reports and policy briefings for senior leadership
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced analytical tools
- Coordinate with legislative offices to advance policy agendas
- Mentor junior analysts and drive continuous improvement processes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or regulated sector
- Expertise in California state government operations and budget processes
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Active California State employee preferred (non-employees must pass background check)
- Project management certification or equivalent experience
