Responsibilities
- Develop evidence-based mental health policy recommendations for state legislators
- Analyze federal/state legislation impacts on behavioral health services
- Coordinate interagency initiatives with Department of Health and OMH divisions
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefings for senior leadership
- Manage stakeholder engagement with advocacy groups and providers
- Oversee grant compliance for federal mental health programs
- Lead public comment analysis for regulatory updates
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Social Work, or related field
- 3+ years government policy analysis experience
- Proficiency in healthcare data analytics tools (e.g., SAS, Tableau)
- NY State residency required at hire
- Valid NYS driver's license
- Knowledge of 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations
- Experience with federal grant management (SAM.gov)
- NY State background clearance
