Role Overview:
The Senior Policy Analyst will be responsible for conducting in-depth research, drafting policy briefs, and advising senior leadership on regulatory changes affecting our government clients. You will serve as a subject matter expert on state and federal compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Policy Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research on proposed bills, regulations, and legislative trends at the state and federal levels.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with government officials, lobbyists, and community leaders to advocate for client interests.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret complex government regulations, ensuring all client operations remain in strict compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Report Writing: Draft high-level white papers, policy memos, and testimony for legislative committees.
- Crisis Management: Provide strategic counsel during policy shifts or public relations crises affecting government contracts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Law, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in government relations, public policy analysis, or legislative affairs.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel) and government database systems.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal and policy concepts.
- Network: Established network within California State or Federal government circles is a significant plus.
