Responsibilities
- Analyze complex fiscal policies and recommend data-driven solutions for state budget allocation
- Lead cross-departmental projects on urban infrastructure and economic development initiatives
- Prepare detailed legislative briefings and testimony for state legislative committees
- Collaborate with local government officials to implement regional development strategies
- Monitor federal funding opportunities and manage grant applications
- Conduct quantitative research using statistical software (R, Python, or SAS)
- Mentor junior analysts and supervise policy research workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Deep understanding of California state budget processes and regulations
- Strong quantitative skills with demonstrated experience in statistical modeling
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel statewide
- Experience with legislative processes and stakeholder management
- Certification in Public Administration (CPA) or Public Finance (CPF) a plus
