Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft comprehensive recommendations for state agencies
- Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives across government, community, and private sectors
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced statistical methods
- Develop legislative proposals and regulatory frameworks aligned with state priorities
- Present findings to high-level officials through clear, persuasive reports and presentations
- Monitor implementation of policies and evaluate effectiveness through data-driven assessments
- Mentor junior analysts and coordinate cross-functional project teams
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R, or SAS) and data visualization tools
- Proven track record of developing successful policy recommendations adopted by state agencies
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement and consensus-building techniques
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with ability to present complex information clearly
- Knowledge of New Mexico's legislative process and regulatory frameworks
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
