Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy data and draft actionable recommendations for city council and state committees
- Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives with community groups, nonprofits, and private sector partners
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and legislative proposals aligned with California's strategic goals
- Monitor legislative trends and conduct comparative analysis across California municipalities
- Collaborate with state agencies to implement community development programs
- Present findings to senior officials through executive reports and public presentations
- Maintain compliance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in government policy analysis or public sector consulting
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical analysis
- Deep understanding of California's legislative process and municipal governance structures
- Proven track record of developing evidence-based policy recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Certification in Public Administration (CPM or MPA) highly desirable
- Valid California driver's license required for field visits
