Responsibilities
- Oversee design and execution of municipal infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Manage multi-million dollar budgets and coordinate with federal/state agencies
- Ensure compliance with TxDOT, FEMA, and ADA regulations
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, contractors, and stakeholders
- Conduct site inspections and technical reviews of construction plans
- Develop sustainable solutions for climate resilience initiatives
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and permit applications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution
- 5+ years of progressive experience in public works or municipal engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS systems
- Demonstrated project management with $1M+ budgets
- Knowledge of Houston's building codes and permitting processes
- Strong analytical skills for infrastructure vulnerability assessments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
