Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and security of Windows Server environments and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor security measures to protect state data assets, ensuring compliance with federal and state security standards.
- Cloud Migration: Lead initiatives to migrate on-premise applications to secure cloud environments (Azure/AWS) to improve scalability and cost-efficiency.
- System Optimization: Perform routine system audits, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure 99.9% uptime for critical government services.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Vendor Management: Liaise with third-party vendors to manage service level agreements (SLAs) and resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration, network engineering, or a related IT field.
- Certifications: Active certification such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or CISSP is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Active Directory, PowerShell scripting, Group Policy management, and disaster recovery planning.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Public Sector Experience: Experience working within a government or large enterprise environment is a plus.
