Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily administration, maintenance, and optimization of Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Implement and manage robust network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and support cloud-based solutions using Azure or AWS.
- Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and troubleshoot complex technical issues to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Conduct regular audits and compliance checks to meet federal and state data privacy regulations.
- Document technical procedures and provide mentorship to junior system administrators.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration within a corporate or government setting.
- Strong proficiency with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 Enterprise.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various city facilities as required.
