Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of local server hardware, network servers, and virtualization environments.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor robust security protocols to protect sensitive government data from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- System Optimization: Proactively monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues to ensure 99.9% uptime for city services.
- Project Leadership: Lead IT initiatives, including cloud migration strategies and software deployments, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams and incident reports, to facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Compliance: Ensure all system configurations adhere to federal, state, and local government compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering within a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python), virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain necessary government security clearances.
