Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, and VPNs, ensuring high availability and security.
- Oversee system administration for Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and cloud-based solutions (e.g., Azure or AWS).
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for hardware and software issues, providing technical guidance to junior staff and end-users.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and conduct regular security audits to protect sensitive government data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute IT projects, including software upgrades and hardware installations.
- Monitor system performance and capacity to proactively address potential bottlenecks and outages.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration, network engineering, or a related IT role.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Server+, or CCNA are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance (if applicable to the role).
