Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure systems, including servers, storage, and virtualization environments.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues to ensure maximum uptime for state agencies.
- Manage and secure network configurations, firewalls, and access controls in compliance with state security policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade hardware and software systems to meet evolving business needs.
- Perform regular backups, system updates, and disaster recovery planning to safeguard sensitive government data.
- Document technical processes, configurations, and system architectures for future reference and compliance audits.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff and state employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT infrastructure management.
- Proven experience working with Windows Server, Linux, VMware, and virtualization technologies.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain a government security clearance.
