Position Overview:
The Senior Systems Analyst will serve as a bridge between business requirements and technical solutions. You will be responsible for analyzing complex business processes, designing technical architectures, and leading the implementation of software solutions that align with state strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of business requirements and translate them into detailed functional specifications for technical teams.
- Design, develop, and implement complex software solutions, including custom applications and database integrations.
- Lead code reviews, performance testing, and quality assurance processes to ensure system stability and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, developers, and state agency stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation of system architecture, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend innovative technology solutions to enhance government services.
- Ensure all systems comply with state and federal regulations, including data privacy and cybersecurity standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Systems Analysis, Software Development, or IT Project Management.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Python, or other relevant programming languages.
- Experience with enterprise systems, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), and modern DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and the ability to travel between state facilities as required.
