Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex system infrastructure and network architecture to support state operations.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and security of critical applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver technical solutions that meet business needs.
- Implement and manage cloud solutions, including migration and optimization strategies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal IT security policies and industry best practices.
- Lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers to foster professional growth within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in systems engineering, network administration, or a related technical role.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows server environments, including scripting and automation.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP), firewalls, and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced government environment.
