Responsibilities
- Analyze transportation policy impacts on urban mobility, environmental sustainability, and community equity
- Conduct comprehensive research on federal/state transportation legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Develop data-driven policy recommendations for agency leadership and legislative stakeholders
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement transportation initiatives aligned with state strategic goals
- Prepare detailed policy briefs, legislative testimony, and public communications materials
- Monitor emerging transportation trends and best practices nationwide
- Manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders including local governments and community groups
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation policy or government affairs
- Expertise in quantitative/qualitative research methods and policy analysis frameworks
- Deep knowledge of Washington State transportation systems and regulations
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Proven experience collaborating with diverse community stakeholders
- Valid Washington State driver's license
