Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure projects
- Develop data-driven zoning recommendations to promote equitable growth
- Coordinate with community stakeholders on participatory planning initiatives
- Analyze demographic trends to inform evidence-based policy decisions
- Manage GIS mapping systems for urban development visualization
- Prepare technical reports for Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors presentations
- Oversee compliance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal government planning roles
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and statistical analysis
- Expert knowledge of California land use regulations and CEQA processes
- Demonstrated success in leading community engagement initiatives
- Professional AICP certification strongly preferred
- Experience with affordable housing policy implementation
