As a Data Analyst within the state government, you will be responsible for interpreting complex data sets to assist in decision-making processes that impact thousands of North Carolina residents. Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and validate large datasets to ensure accuracy for state reporting requirements.
- Design and maintain complex dashboards using Tableau or Power BI to visualize key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders to identify critical business questions and data needs.
- Conduct statistical analysis to forecast trends and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Write clear and concise technical documentation and reports for internal and external audiences.
- Maintain data integrity standards and ensure compliance with state privacy regulations.
- Train non-technical staff on data interpretation tools and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis or a related technical role.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik Sense.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
