Key Responsibilities:
Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the lifecycle management of our IT systems. This includes monitoring network performance, troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, and ensuring strict adherence to state security compliance standards. You will also collaborate with various departments to implement technology solutions that improve operational efficiency for government operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and network segments.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability of all network hardware and software assets.
- Configure and troubleshoot server hardware, operating systems, and virtualization environments.
- Provide technical support and guidance to state employees regarding hardware and software issues.
- Conduct regular system audits and implement necessary patches and updates to maintain security.
- Collaborate with vendors to procure and manage IT equipment and services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in systems administration or IT support.
- Experience working within a government or public sector environment is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, Windows Server, and Linux.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are a plus.
- Ability to obtain a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Level 2 Background Check.
